WaterSprings Int’l School on excursion to Durian

As the saying goes, Children are the Leaders of Tomorrow, but the question is – “what kind of leaders will they turn out to become”? On the 9th of July, during the educational excursion that the Year 6 pupils of WaterSprings Int’l School came to have in our facility, we first educated them about what we do at Durian and the topic of sustainable leadership.

Then they had an exciting tour of our Eco-friendly craft village showcasing our Bamboo-based Admin office, Pet bottle/Tyre/Mud-based training hall, Coconut seat lounge, Cordwood house, Biogas section, and Black soap station.

They were also taught how to make black soap from waste cocoa pods; how to make earring, keyholder, and necklace from bamboo; how to make packaging envelopes from waste newspapers; and how to recycle/upcycle other items at home and in school.

The feedback gotten from the youngsters after their experience with us was amazing as they shared what they can do as a result of the hands-on learning experience they acquired. They made the commitment to start a hold it till you can bin it campaign in their school.
