Saturday 27th January 2018 marked the second space meeting for our Rural Children Learning Space. This week we had the participation of 12 children. We had classes in Maths and English. The classes were concluded with a music session with the children creating sounds from waste materials.
There were two volunteer teachers during the classes. Edyta, a journalist from Poland was very happy to teach the children while also learning from the children. Lillian a volunteer teacher from Nigeria says she is very glad to spend a time with the children teaching them to read and write. She was so pleased to learn that we can create musical instruments from waste.
For us, we want to see that the children understand the power of creativity and have fun while also learning to keep their environment clean.
